PressPrimer Quiz and Quiz and Survey Master (QSM) are two of the best quiz plugins for WordPress, but they’re aimed at very different problems and markets. QSM has been around for years and has built an ecosystem around marketing quizzes, surveys, and lead generation. PressPrimer Quiz is a new assessment platform that focuses specifically on online learning and evaluation.

This post compares both WordPress quiz plugins so you can see how they differ and when to choose one over the other. We’ll cover both free plugins (as they’re both freemium products) and their premium add-ons.

Quiz and Survey Master is a popular general-purpose quiz builder plugin. Pricing

QSM and PressPrimer Quiz offer very different pricing models and maximum sites. At the time of writing, PressPrimer Quiz starts at $69 for the first year of an Educator license for 1 site and goes up to $179 for an Enterprise license for 5 sites. Quiz and Survey Master starts at $149 for a basic license for 1 site and goes up to $299 for a 10 site All Access license. It also offers lifetime licenses starting at $447; PressPrimer does not offer lifetime licenses.

If you can only pick one

Choose Quiz and Survey Master if your primary use case is marketing, lead generation, surveys, or selling products through quizzes.

Pick PressPrimer Quiz if your primary use case is online learning, course assessment, or any scenario where you need to make sure that students are learning and retaining information.

It’s also fine to use both plugins on the same site, with QSM handling some of the marketing workflows and PressPrimer Quiz handling academic assessment.
