Quiz Premium 3.1: Study Plans, Reports, Campaigns

Version 3.1 updates are now available for the Educator, School, and Enterprise add-ons for PressPrimer Quiz. These represent some of the biggest releases we’ve ever done, and they’re headlined by a feature that we’ve been working towards since day one: Study Planners. With them, it’s actually feasible for students to say, “Quiz me every day for the next two weeks on these topic areas, with these question difficulties, and help me improve over time by focusing on my weak areas.” It all just works, and it’s just one of many big new features in this batch of releases.

Here’s what’s new across the three premium plugins.

The Study Planner

The Study Planner is a brand new front-end tool that allows students to build their own practice schedules and quiz system. It all starts with a wizard that looks like this:

Students choose what they want to study (from question banks that have been made available to them), set a schedule, choose their options, and then everything is ready to go. The planner generates a practice session for each scheduled day, drawn from the material selected by the student.

The sessions aren’t random. Question selection is weighted toward each student’s weak areas using the mastery data that has also been added in 3.1. New streak metrics track consistency, and a readiness trend shows students how well they’re progressing as the exam approaches.

There’s no AI here. The planner is rule-based and explainable, and students can track their growth over time. Underneath everything is the new mastery engine, which tracks per-category performance for every student. (So if you haven’t been mapping questions to categories, now is a very good time to start!)

Reports in the front end

When we shipped the front-end teacher dashboard in 3.0, reporting was the missing piece. Teachers could manage groups and assignments from a page on your site, but they still had to go into /wp-admin/ to see how students were doing. Version 3.1 moves teacher-facing reports to the front end.

Reports from across the Educator and School plugins have all been migrated to the dashboard, with the same data isolation and CSV export support. With these changes, teachers can oversee their students without ever using /wp-admin/.

Contacts and campaigns

In earlier releases, you couldn’t do much with the guest email addresses that PressPrimer Quiz optionally captured when anonymous users access quizzes. In 3.0 we added some basic tools to capture consent and connect contacts to a CRM, and now in 3.1 we’re actually rolling out some basic CRM features.

We now offer a list of guest contacts, including their captured email, consent state, capture date, and more. There’s even CSV export and you can segment users by quiz completion. Then, if you want to send a campaign, we can do that. There’s full support for one-click unsubscribe (from a public page, so users don’t have to be signed in), basic campaigns, and more. We still have the Uncanny Automator and WP Fusion support for connecting your CRM and building more advanced sequences and segmentation, but if the only thing you want to do is send some occasional emails to guest users, you can now do it without any extra tools.

Enterprise changes

The features above live in the Educator and School add-ons, and of course Enterprise gets more features behind the scenes. There’s broader audit coverage, so if you’re using the new tools above, it may be worth revisiting your audit log settings to choose what you do and don’t want to capture for audit records.

There are also new tools for managing guest email retention, so you can have records automatically purged based on consent.

Updating

As always, we recommend you run the same versions of all PressPrimer Quiz plugins. (Nothing breaks if you don’t, but you won’t have access to all features if some plugins aren’t up to date.) Update the free plugin to 3.1 first, then update the add-ons.
