PressPrimer Quiz includes a variety of reporting tools to help you better understand learner performance and potential problem areas.
High-level statistics and trends for quizzes can be found under PressPrimer Quiz > Dashboard in /wp-admin/. Detailed reports are available under PressPrimer Quiz > Reports.
The four metrics on the main Reports page (Total Attempts, Average Score, Pass Rate, and Average Time) are calculated across all quiz attempts for all time. Because this could involve hundreds of thousands of records on busy sites, these values are calculated and cached once per hour only, so they may be slightly out of date.
Attempts on practice quizzes are excluded from these metrics and from grade-bearing reports, so averages and pass rates reflect real attempts only. Practice attempts still appear in attempt lists, badged as practice, with a filter to show or hide them. See Practice Mode.
Quiz Performance Report
The Quiz Performance report show how each quiz is performing, with records for the number of attempts, average score, pass rate, and the average amount of time it takes to complete each attempt.
All columns in the report can be sorted, the date range can be customized, and you can use the search tool to find specific quizzes. To make changes to quizzes as you review the report, click the title in the Quiz column to edit that quiz.
Recent Attempts
The Recent Attempts report lists all attempts for all quizzes in chronological order. Besides the basic details included in the table, you can click any row to see the full details of that attempt, from details about the student to timing to a full list of questions, answers, and the user’s selections.
Important Notes
- All quiz attempts and associated data are stored indefinitely by default. Historical records are preserved even when questions are edited.
- Caching is used for some reports. Dashboard statistics are cached for 5 minutes, charts for 15 minutes, and statistics on the Reports page for 1 hour. This helps to improve performance of what might otherwise be slow queries.
