The Educator add-on brings day-to-day teaching work to the front end of your site. Teachers can manage groups, members, quiz assignments, and reports from the same front-end dashboard students use, without ever opening /wp-admin/. The dashboard adds a Teacher section to the navigation with three screens: Groups, Assignments, and Reports.

Requirements

The teacher dashboard requires:

• PressPrimer Quiz (free) 3.0.0 or higher
• PressPrimer Quiz – Educator 3.0.0 or higher
• A designated dashboard page, set under PressPrimer Quiz > Settings > General

If your site does not have a dashboard page yet, see The Front-End Dashboard for setup. Once the page exists, the Teacher screens appear automatically for users who can manage groups. Teachers see only their own groups on the dashboard, exactly as they do in /wp-admin/.

The Groups Screen

The Groups screen lists the groups the signed-in teacher manages. From here they can:

• Create a group with the New group button
• Open a group to work with its Members and Assignments tabs
• Add and remove members, individually or in bulk, from the Members tab
• Create and manage the group’s assignments from the Assignments tab

If your site uses LearnDash Groups Mode, the Groups screen lists LearnDash groups instead. Rosters are read-only in that mode, and each group links to LearnDash for membership changes.

The Assignments Screen

The Assignments screen brings together the assignments across the teacher’s groups. From here they can:

• Create an assignment with the New assignment button, including due dates and grace periods
• Edit existing assignments, including reminder emails, and send a test reminder
• Open an assignment to see per-student completion status, scores, and attempt details

The functionality matches the wp-admin screens described in Assigning Quizzes to Groups and Tracking Assignment Completion.

The Reports Screen

The Reports screen brings the Group Statistics, Quiz Detail, and Pre/Post Analysis reports to the dashboard, with the same filters, data, and CSV export as their wp-admin versions. Other PressPrimer add-ons can add their own report views to the same screen.

Same Data, Two Surfaces

The front-end dashboard is a second location for the same underlying data, not a separate system. Changes made on the dashboard appear in /wp-admin/ immediately and vice versa, and the same permission rules apply in both places. Teachers can work wherever they prefer, and the wp-admin screens are unchanged.

The Assigned Quizzes Screen for Students

Educator also adds a student-facing Assigned Quizzes screen to the dashboard, alongside Home and My Results. It lists the student’s assigned quizzes with due dates and completion status. The screen only appears when the signed-in user actually has assigned quizzes, so students without assignments never see an empty tab.

Keeping Teachers Out of wp-admin
