With the front-end teacher dashboard in place, many sites have no reason for instructors or students to visit /wp-admin/ at all. The Educator add-on includes an option to keep non-administrative users on the front end entirely: they lose the WordPress admin bar, and if they open a wp-admin page they are sent to the dashboard instead.

Enabling the Restriction

1. Make sure a dashboard page is designated under PressPrimer Quiz > Settings > General. The restriction cannot be enabled without one, since restricted users need somewhere to land.
2. Navigate to PressPrimer Quiz > Settings > Educator.
3. In the Front-end-only access section, turn on either or both toggles:
   • Restrict instructors to the front-end dashboard
   • Restrict students to the front-end dashboard
4. Save your settings.

The student toggle covers ordinary accounts without editing rights, including Subscriber and Customer accounts, which is useful on membership and WooCommerce sites where every customer has a login.

Who Is Never Affected

Administrators and anyone who can edit content on the site are never restricted, regardless of the toggles. The restriction targets users whose only reason to be in wp-admin would be PressPrimer Quiz work that the dashboard now handles. No roles or capabilities are edited, so turning a toggle off instantly restores normal access.

For special cases, developers can exempt specific users with the ppqe_restrict_wp_admin_exempt filter.

What Restricted Users Experience

• The WordPress admin bar is hidden on the front end.
• Opening any wp-admin page redirects to the front-end dashboard.
• Everything else works normally: logging in, taking quizzes, and using the dashboard, including background requests that plugins rely on.
