The Quiz Detail report provides a comprehensive analytics dashboard for a single quiz. It brings together score distributions, category performance, question difficulty analysis, timing data, and score trends to help you understand how students are performing and where they struggle.

This report is also available on the Reports screen of the front-end Teacher Dashboard, with the same filters, data, and CSV export.

Accessing the Report

Navigate to PressPrimer Quiz > Reports in /wp-admin/ and click the Quiz Detail card. Select a quiz from the drop-down to load the report. The quiz must have at least one completed attempt for data to appear.

Teachers see data only from students in their managed groups. Administrators see data from all students.

Summary Statistics

The top of the report shows key performance indicators for the selected quiz:

• Total Attempts — The number of completed quiz submissions.
• Unique Students — The number of distinct students who attempted the quiz.
• Average Score — The mean percentage score across all attempts.
• Pass Rate — The percentage of attempts that met or exceeded the passing score. Only shown if the quiz has a passing score set.
• Average Time — The mean time students spent completing the quiz.
• Score Range — The lowest and highest scores recorded.

Score Distribution

A histogram showing how many attempts fall into each score range. Scores are grouped into percentage buckets (0-10%, 10-20%, and so on). If the quiz has a passing score, the pass threshold is marked on the chart so you can see the distribution of passes and failures at a glance.

Pass/Fail Breakdown

A doughnut chart showing the proportion of attempts that passed versus failed. This section only appears for quizzes that have a passing score configured.

Category Performance

A horizontal bar chart displaying the average score for each question category. Categories are sorted from highest to lowest average score, making it easy to identify topics where students perform well and topics that need more attention. This section only appears if the quiz contains questions with assigned categories.

Question Difficulty Analysis

A table ranking questions by how often students answer them correctly. For quizzes with more than 10 questions, the report shows the 5 hardest and 5 easiest questions. Each row includes the question text, correctness rate, number of attempts, the author-assigned difficulty level, and average time spent.

Use this section to identify questions that may be too easy (near 100% correctness) or too hard (near 0%). Questions with very low correctness rates may need clearer wording, better answer options, or additional instructional support.

Time per Question

A table ranking questions by how long students spend on them. For quizzes with more than 10 questions, the report shows the 5 slowest and 5 fastest questions. Questions that take significantly longer than average may indicate confusing wording or topics that students find challenging.

Difficulty Calibration

This section compares the difficulty levels you assigned to questions against how students actually performed. Questions are grouped by their author-assigned difficulty (Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced, Expert), and the report shows the average correctness rate for each group. Ideally, correctness should decrease as difficulty increases. If Beginner questions have a lower correctness rate than Advanced ones, the difficulty labels may need to be reconsidered.

Confidence vs. Accuracy

If the quiz has confidence ratings enabled, this section shows how accuracy differs between answers where students indicated they were confident and answers where they were not. Students rate each answer as Low, Medium, or High confidence, and the report groups those ratings into the confident and not-confident buckets shown here. A large gap between confident and not-confident accuracy suggests students have a good sense of what they know. If accuracy is similar regardless of confidence, students may be guessing or may not be able to distinguish what they’ve learned from what they haven’t.

Score Trend

A line chart showing how average scores change over time. The chart adapts its grouping based on the date range: daily for periods up to 31 days, weekly for 32-90 days, and monthly for longer ranges. Use this to monitor whether quiz performance is improving, declining, or stable over time. The date range can be adjusted using the picker above the chart.

Tips

• Metrics become more reliable as more attempts accumulate. A quiz with only a handful of attempts may show misleading patterns.
• The report uses a sticky table of contents at the top of the report for navigation between sections on larger screens.
