Groups allow you to organize students into classes, cohorts, or teams. Once students are in a group, you can assign quizzes to the entire group, share question banks with other teachers in the group, and track completion across all members.

This article covers group management in /wp-admin/. Teachers can also manage their groups from the front-end Teacher Dashboard; the same groups appear in both places.

If your site uses LearnDash Groups Mode, groups come from LearnDash instead. Group creation and membership are managed in LearnDash, and the steps in this article do not apply.

Creating a Group

1. Navigate to PressPrimer Quiz > Groups. The Educator add-on must be active to see the menu item.
2. Click Add New at the top of the page.
3. Enter a Group Name. Choose something descriptive like “Fall 2026 Biology 101” or “Sales Team Onboarding”.
4. Optionally, enter a Description to provide more context about the group’s purpose.
5. Click Create Group.

After creating a group, you’ll be taken to the group detail page where you can add members and manage assignments.

Group Visibility

Groups can have one of two visibility settings:

• Private: Only group members and administrators can see the group. This is the default setting.
• Public: The group is visible to all users, though membership is still controlled.

Editing a Group

1. Navigate to PressPrimer Quiz > Groups.
2. Find the group you want to edit in the list.
3. Hover over the group name and click Edit.

4. Make your changes and click Update Group.

Deleting a Group

To delete a group:

1. Navigate to PressPrimer Quiz > Groups.
2. Hover over the group name and click Delete.
3. Confirm the deletion when prompted.

Important: Deleting a group removes all member associations and assignments for that group. Quiz attempt data from group members is preserved, but will no longer be associated with the deleted group.

Group Owner Permissions

The user who creates a group becomes its owner. Group owners can:

• Edit group details (name, description, visibility)
• Add and remove members
• Change member roles
• Create and manage assignments
• Share question banks with the group
• Delete the group

Administrators can manage all groups regardless of ownership.
