Every certificate ever issued on your site is listed under Certificates > Certificates. This screen is your record of who earned what, and where you revoke, reinstate, and resend certificates.

The Certificates List

Each row shows the certificate’s Credential ID, Recipient, Template, Source (which trigger issued it, or Manual), Status, Issued date, and Expires date. Use the search box to find certificates by recipient or credential ID, and the dropdown filters to narrow the list by template, status, or source.

Certificate Statuses

• Issued: A valid, active certificate.
• Expired: The certificate’s expiry date has passed. Expiry happens automatically; you never need to expire anything by hand.
• Revoked: The certificate was withdrawn by an administrator.

Row Actions

Hover over the Credential ID column of any certificate to see the available actions.

• View: Opens the certificate’s public verification result, exactly as an outside verifier sees it.
• Download PDF: Downloads the certificate PDF.
• Resend email: Sends the certificate email to the recipient again, with the PDF attached. Useful when the original landed in spam or the recipient lost it.
• Revoke / Reinstate: Withdraws a certificate, or restores one revoked by mistake.
• Delete: Permanently removes the certificate and its history.

Revoking and Reinstating

Revoking is how you invalidate a credential that should no longer be honored, like one issued in error or earned under circumstances you cannot stand behind. When you revoke, you can record an optional reason. The reason is visible to site staff only; it is never shown publicly.

A revoked certificate verifies as revoked on the public verification page, and its PDF download is disabled. The record itself stays intact, so if the revocation was a mistake, Reinstate restores the certificate exactly as it was.

Deleting

Important: Deleting is permanent. The certificate and its history are removed, and the credential ID will no longer verify at all; a verifier simply sees “no certificate found”. To invalidate an earned credential while keeping an auditable record, use Revoke instead. Deletion is best reserved for test certificates and true mistakes.

Certificates on User Profiles

Each user’s profile screen (Users > Profile) includes a PressPrimer Certificates section listing every certificate that user has earned, with its name, credential ID, status, earned and expiry dates, and verify and download links. This gives support staff a quick answer to “what does this person hold?” without leaving the profile.
