Important: Uncanny Automator 6.0 or higher is required.

Uncanny Automator connects your WordPress plugins and apps together through automated workflows called “recipes.” PressPrimer Assignment adds triggers to Automator so you can automate actions based on assignment activity.

Available Triggers

PressPrimer Assignment adds 4 triggers to Uncanny Automator recipes:

• A user submits an assignment
• A user is graded on an assignment
• A user passes an assignment
• A user fails an assignment

Important: The PressPrimer Assignment triggers are for Logged-in recipe types only. Recipes will only run when users are logged in.

The triggers work with the free version of Uncanny Automator. Each trigger supports a full suite of tokens for working with assignment data, including assignment title, student name, score, feedback, grader name, and more.

Sample Use Cases

All of the following scenarios are possible with the PressPrimer Assignment triggers, though some may require Automator Pro:

• When a student fails an assignment, send their manager a notification email with the score and feedback
• When a student passes an assignment, enroll them in the next course and award a certificate
• When a student submits an assignment, log the details to a shared Google Sheet for record-keeping
• When an assignment is graded, post a Slack message to the instructor team channel

Troubleshooting

• If recipes aren’t firing, make sure the user is logged in, that the recipe is live, and that the assignment linked to the recipe is in Published status.
