Important: LearnPress 4.0 or later is required.
PressPrimer Assignment integrates directly with LearnPress, the LMS plugin for WordPress from ThimPress.
Adding an Assignment to a Lesson
To add a PressPrimer assignment to a LearnPress lesson:
- Create the course and associated lesson in LearnPress.
- Edit the lesson.
- In the Lesson Settings metabox, look for a PressPrimer Assignment section. Choose the assignment to attach to the lesson.
- If users are required to pass the PressPrimer assignment in order to complete the lesson, enable Require passing grade to complete lesson.
- Click the Update button in the upper right to save your changes.
Completion Behavior
When “Require passing grade to complete lesson” is checked, the LearnPress Complete button is hidden until the student passes the assignment. Once the student is graded and receives a passing score, the button reappears so they can click it to mark the lesson complete. If all lessons in the course are completed, the course will also be marked complete.
When the option is unchecked, the assignment is informational only and the Complete button remains available at all times.
If both PressPrimer Quiz and PressPrimer Assignment are attached to the same lesson, both must be passed before the lesson completes.
Course Access and Completion
PressPrimer assignments work with all LearnPress course types, including open courses that do not require enrollment. Non-enrolled users on paid or private courses will not see the assignment.
Permissions
LearnPress Instructors (lp_teacher role) can create and manage their own PressPrimer assignments and grade their students’ submissions. Instructors will only see assignments they have created, while administrators can see all assignments and submissions.
Notes
- The assignment will only be embedded on lessons within the context of a course. If you preview the lesson independently, the assignment won’t appear.
- The embedded assignment will be displayed beneath any other content you add to the lesson page.
