Important: LearnDash 4.20 or higher is required.

PressPrimer Assignment natively integrates with LearnDash, one of the most popular LMS plugins for WordPress. This integration allows you to attach assignments to your courses, lessons, and topics, with automatic completion tracking when students pass.

Attaching an Assignment to a Lesson or Topic

PressPrimer Assignment automatically adds a metabox to LearnDash lesson and topic edit pages. Within the metabox you can search for and select an assignment to attach. When a PressPrimer assignment is attached, it will be automatically shown beneath any other content on the page.

Assignments can be attached at the lesson or topic level. When a student passes the attached assignment, the lesson or topic can automatically be marked as complete.

Completion Tracking

When a PressPrimer assignment is connected to a LearnDash lesson or topic, the Mark Complete button from LearnDash is hidden until the PressPrimer assignment is passed. Once the student receives a passing grade, the lesson or topic is marked complete automatically.

If both PressPrimer Quiz and PressPrimer Assignment are attached to the same lesson, both must be passed before the lesson completes.

Permissions

LearnDash Group Leaders are automatically granted teacher-level permissions for PressPrimer Assignment. Group Leaders can create and manage their own assignments and grade their students’ submissions. Administrators can see all assignments and submissions.

Important: While you can use PressPrimer Assignment shortcodes and blocks on LearnDash post types to show assignments, doing so will not connect assignment completion to lesson or topic completion. Use the metaboxes described above to link assignments to LearnDash content if you want passing an assignment to trigger LearnDash progress.
