PressPrimer Assignment – Educator is a premium add-on that adds group management, a rubric builder, and the teacher role to PressPrimer Assignment. This guide covers installation, license activation, and what’s added after setup.

Requirements

Before installing the Educator add-on, ensure you have:

• PressPrimer Assignment (free) version 2.2.0 or higher installed and activated
• WordPress 6.4 or higher
• PHP 7.4 or higher
• A valid Educator add-on license

Installation

1. Download the Educator add-on ZIP file from your PressPrimer account.
2. In your WordPress admin, navigate to Plugins > Add New.
3. Click Upload Plugin at the top of the page.
4. Click Choose File and select the ZIP file you downloaded.
5. Click Install Now.
6. Once installation completes, click Activate Plugin.

Activating Your License

After activating the plugin, you’ll need to enter your license key to receive automatic updates and enable all features.

1. Navigate to PPA Assignments > Settings.
2. Click the License tab.
3. Enter your license key in the provided field.
4. Click Activate License.

Once activated, the license status will display as Active and your site will receive notifications when new versions are available.

What Gets Added

After activation, the Educator add-on adds the following to your site:

• A new Groups submenu under PPA Assignments
• A rubric builder on the assignment edit screen (under the Grading section)
• A License tab on the Settings page
• The PressPrimer Teacher role (if it doesn’t already exist from PressPrimer Quiz)
• Assignment management and grading capabilities on the teacher role

Using with PressPrimer Quiz Educator

If PressPrimer Quiz Educator is also installed, both plugins share the same Groups tables and the PressPrimer Teacher role. Groups you create for quizzes can also be used for assignments, and vice versa. Each plugin also works independently — you don’t need Quiz Educator installed to use Assignment Educator.

Troubleshooting

• If you see a message that PressPrimer Assignment 2.0.0 or higher is required, ensure the free plugin is installed, activated, and updated to version 2.0.0 or higher.
• If menu items don’t appear after activation, try refreshing the page or clearing your browser cache.
• If you encounter a white screen or PHP error, check that your server meets the minimum PHP version requirement (7.4).
• If license activation fails, double-check that the license key is entered correctly and that your site URL matches the URL on your PressPrimer account.
